Before we dive into this, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who responded to my last blog post here. I took a bit of a risk putting that out there, but the supporting texts, emails, Facebook messages, and comments were quite unexpected, and I really appreciate all of you for taking the time to do that.
So moving on from that, I’ve started getting back in shape, not just for myself this time, but for you lot too.
That blog post in itself is actually a great lesson. I’ve said it many times before, but make yourself accountable!
If you’re going to get in shape, tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your postman. Whatever it takes, just make yourself accountable. Not only will it make sure you get there, but you’ll also be surprised at how much support is out there waiting for you.
This blog alone has readers well into the hundreds, plus with my Facebook page, and my Monday email with instruction, tips, and recipes all being made aware of my blog post, we’re well into the thousands.
No pressure then. 😉
So yesterday was my first workout since 9th Feb according to my workout log. That’s not including my Physio workouts I do with awesome physio Matt. And they’re definitely workouts (and I’ll post one up in the next week or so). He doesn’t just rub people down, stretch them out a bit, and send them on their way. He’ll pinpoint what’s wrong then push you in a workout exactly where you need it.
But yesterday’s workout was the first workout I’ve done under my own steam. And man, did I feel it!
I went to stretch everyone out at Worthing Bootcamp this morning, started demonstrating a tricep stretch… Jesus H. Christ! The DOMS!!!!!!
I’m back, baby! 😀
Now, like I said, I’ll document the whole thing, so starting this morning, I got up and found out I didn’t have my usual breakfast supplies. Score one for crap planning. So I busted out the video camera to show you how I dealt with it.
At 4.55 in the morning.
Really.
So I apologise for my ‘dragged through a hedge backwards’ appearance, and I’m going to show you how not having my usual chocolate oats turned into “Bacon” and egg muffiny goodness.
And it fits perfectly into my, and your eating plan.
So there’s some great tips and lessons there:
- Take imperfect action. Don’t wait until you’ve gone shopping or whatever (unless of course all you have in the house is half a leftover pizza and a packet of frazzles), work with what you have and start NOW!
- If you’re poaching or dry frying an egg, add an extra 4-5g of protein with one simple trick, and all you need is a small cup or similar!
- You can have a cooked breakfast not only within your calorie and nutrition requirements, but within about 10 minutes too!
Let me know what you think below and if you have any cooking tips, or how to not look like a zombie at 5 in the morning, chuck those in too!
