2013 – Looking back, looking forward, giving thanks…

This year, I achieved a big goal of mine. On Monday I’ll be running the first Bootcamp session out of my new private studio. Check it out:

And all of this is possible because of you. So instead of using my blog to post up the usual strategies and secrets to getting in shape, I’m going to be a bit self indulgent and use it to start my year on a note of thanks.

On New Year’s Eve, on my Facebook page I posted a photo (below) recapping everything you lot have achieved this year, and giving thanks to you because I’m only reaching my goals because you have the strength, tenacity, and (probably most importantly) awesomeness to reach yours.

Here’s a quick rundown of what you’ve achieved in just the last year:

  • Lost over 670lbs of fat
  • Lost over 5400 inches
  • Run marathons, half-marathons, triathlons, and army assault courses
  • Raised over £2400 for local charities
  • Filled (literally! Seats down and everything!) 6 hatchbacks with food and clothes donations for the Worthing Churches Homeless Projects with our Charity Bootcamps
  • Had Power Living Intensive, our Body Transformation Bootcamp, voted the “Best Workout in Worthing” by Worthing residents
  • Were nominated for two Business Awards, and came second in the Reader’s Choice category – The one voted for by you!
  • Put members on the cover and in a magazine
  • Been published in six local publications

So many of you are awesome that when I tried tagging everyone I’d trained in the last year into that photo on Facebook, I only got about half way through before I reached Facebook’s tagging limits! Then it took me 3 or 4 more comments to finish tagging everyone manually!

And that’s only the people I’ve trained this year! That doesn’t include the readers of this blog, the hundreds of people who get my weekly Lean Living Chronicles in their email inbox, fans of my Facebook pages, readers of Power Living Magazine

There’s literally thousands of you who are beyond awesome, and have my respect and thanks.

When I moved down from London to Worthing in 2009/2010 (I can’t actually remember the exact year off the top of my head because it’s been such a whirlwind!) I did it with the goal of being able to help 100,000 people by 2015. Zig Ziglar famously said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

I personally think if you lived your entire life by just that one quote, you won’t go far wrong.

Moving forward, with the new private training studio which you made happen, we can make Power Living Intensive even  bigger and I’ll also be launching my new Accelerated Personal Training Programme.

To really say thanks and continue my philosophy of leading with the giving hand, I want to give 5 people a scholarship onto my new programme. I’ll be emailing details of this programme out shortly, so if you want to grab one of the scholarships before they all go, just scroll down to just above the comments and stick your details in the little “Free Gifts” box below and keep an eye on your inbox.

Thanks to everyone. Stay awesome. 2013’s going to be our best year so far!
