Worthing Personal Training and how surfing Facebook could change your life!

Do you have C-Power?

Not got a clue what I’m talking about? It’s not the first time, I’m sure… 🙂

I’m going to start this post off with an email I got a couple of days ago from one of my awesome trainees, Caroline. I’ve mentioned her before on this blog and also in my fortnightly (give or take) Lean Living Chronicles (which if you don’t get already, you just need to stick your details in the boxes in the top right there, and I’ll send them free of charge!), so you’ll probably recognise a lot of things in this email.

If your boss has ever told you that surfing Facebook when your bored is a waste of time, you can read below how it could change your life! It’s also probably the best explanation of C-Power you’ll ever get, and why you need it.

Check it out:

“About a year ago, I was bored and decided to look on facebook and saw that Anthony had teamed up with The Worthing Page to offer a 21-day private training programme for 5 lucky people. This was a great opportunity, and I had been wanting to lose weight for quite a while but was not sure how to go about it. So when I saw this offer, I decided to try my luck and apply. As it turns out, I was one of the lucky few. I was ecstatic! I lost quite a bit of weight quite quickly and so I decided to continue my training programme.

It was a no-brainer.

Today I found out that I have lost 2 stone so far and I cannot tell you how excited I am about this as things have been quite a struggle. I have several medical conditions and I’m on about 5 different medications which makes losing weight really difficult. I also have early stage arthritis in my right knee so walking can be quite a struggle at times, let alone working out!

Although it doesn’t stop me from achieving things; this year I entered Cancer Research’s 5k Race for Life and completed it within 54 minutes, beating my companion by almost 3 minutes. I can now get into clothes 2 to 3 sizes smaller than last year. I can now go and shop in my favourite stores again and actually find clothes that fit me, I cannot tell you how much my confidence has grown thanks to Anthony and the work outs I have.

A great motivation tip that Anthony told me to do was have an achievement book so I can write my achievements down. I started it in June and have so far got 25 things written down from over the year that I’ve been working out. It really does work!

Though the best thing is when people I have not seen for ages, see me and are shocked by the results of my weight loss. Especially when I tell them how much weight I lost. Seeing the weight go down almost every week gives me great pleasure and that I am on my way to my target weight. I may joke around but I am glad I have Anthony as my personal trainer.”

Anthony again. So want to know what C-Power is? Well after that, it could be “Caroline Power”, but what I’m referring to is “Consistency”.

Caroline deals with more obstacles to weight loss on a daily basis than most of us will deal with in a lifetime. Yet she doesn’t bitch about it, she deals with it and just moves forward. One step at a time.

She consistently puts one foot in front of the other to move towards her goal.

They’ll be smaller steps than most people can make if they take the action Caroline has, much smaller in a lot of cases, but it doesn’t matter. The sad fact is, without any of those limitations, most people aren’t action takers and will gain 5-10lbs this year, some will yo-yo with the same 5 lbs but ultimately get no-where.

Caroline on the other hand has lost 2 stone.

So tell me below in the comments. Do you have C-Power?

  1. I quite agree, consistency is the key and life-long! As a Health and Fitness Professional (Sport Science), Sports Coach/instructor and competetive sports player/rider, I couldn’t agree more.

In 2006 I collapsed and was nearly hospitalised, I physically could not exercise or dance for 6 months, but I slowly built it up again so that my swim time was back to what it was 3 years earlier and I was back to peak fitness and still maintain a high level for my agegroup.

It took 18 months in all but I did it – yes, my fitness levels have always been high, yes, I have always had very high energy levels an yes, I have always been ‘self-motivated’, but even those of us at the top can become ill and have to literally ‘start again’.

To assist in my recovery, I turned to my sports buddies and dance partners to work out with me or encourage me to go Salsa dancing….without them I could have done it myself….but it would have taken longer and not been nearly as much fun! :-).

Oh and for the record, I live daily with a medical condition and I have many sports injuries including arthritis in my right knee.

In 27 years of competetive horse-riding, I have been face-down in the mud on many occasion, but I always got straight back into the saddle and whenever possible, finished the course….I do everything possible to replicate that principle in business too.

Outwardly, there is nothing to differentiate me from the next person but internally I have a desire to remain in peak fitness, the older I get – I have a ‘healthy’ deisre to constantly challenge myself and take myself ‘outside of my comfort zone’. I love nothing more than achieving my swim time of 6 years ago, time and again! I walk away from the pool with a huge smile on my face and feel on a ‘high’ for the rest of the day, which has a positive effect on my business….

I hope this inspires others to do the same…..
